I write these words to express my enthusiastic recommendation of Himalayan Research Expeditions (HRE) as a well-established and highly agile trekking company or high-altitude logistics service provider for the Nepal Himalayas. I hired HRE in 2016 to help manage my team of ten researchers to conduct a two-month long research fieldwork funded by the US National Science Foundation (NSF) focused on the risks and social dimensions of glacial lake outburst floods on Mount Everest National Park and Buffer Zone. HRE staff are trained to meet the challenges of conducting high-altitude research expeditions; they were proactive, professional, and efficient in their approach, which helped keep our original plan intact. The kind of logistical support provided to my team and my colleagues (biophysical scientists and engineers) was so impressive that we extended HRE services for 2017-2019.
